The Mostra Dei Mobile (Furniture Fair) is happening outside of Città di Castello in the area called Cerbara in the industrial zone there. Via Vittorini #23. This fair is very much worth visiting even though the organizers don’t make it easy for you to find it. The Consorzio SMAI hosts this event in an enormous showroom which was built to be an event center for the city. It hasn’t really caught on for that use really. But if you want, need, or just like to admire furniture, don’t miss it.

This event is an organization of 60 artisans bringing their products directly to you consumers so there is no middle man or retailer. The prices are the lowest you are likely to find for this very high level of quality. It ain’t Ikea in other words! This is handmade artisan work. Very special.

The website is also offered in english but doesn’t offer directions to find the location of the show room. There are lots of interesting pictures though. And when you arrive to Cerbara it will be easy enough to find this place as it is an important event so we hope there will be adequate signage. www.consorziosmai.it

The showroom is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:a.m. to 12:30 and then it closes until 3:00 when it reopens until 7:00. On Mondays it is open from 3-5p.m and on Sunday it is also open from 3:p.m until 5:p.m (which we find odd and suspicious). Call to confirm if you intend to visit on sunday. 075-851-8094
